What is a fangame?

A fangame is a game created by people like you and me that uses characters and series that already exists. More info on Wikipedia.

Why Plok?

The original "Plok!" game is one of my favorite game of all time. It has awesome music, great gameplay mixed with very interesting graphics and offers a great challenge (the game is pretty darn hard -_-,). I think that Plok deserves another game.

How did this project start?

It started in June 2006, I was trying things with The Games Factory and I somewhat found how to make a character throw his limbs like "Plok" did in his game, then I tried to recreate a Plok engine.

This engine sucked, it was not smooth at all, it played like crap and it was buggy. It was replaced by a much better engine later the next year.

How is this made?

I'm using Multimedia Fusion 2.

When will this be finished?

I don't know, it started in June 2006 and it's still VERY VERY far from complete, I'm still creating Plok's movements, so there is no enemies, no levels, no things to collect, no music and nothing to do. This may never get finished.

Will it plays, looks and sounds like Plok?

Yup, I'm trying to recreate the original Plok engine as much as I can. I'm still not sure how the game will look, but I will use the soundtrack from the original game, because it's amazing.

What have you done so far?

Plok moves, throws is limbs and slide on slopes... that's pretty much it. Plok can't do his somersault -_-

Is this a remake?

Nope, I plan to create new levels. I may recreate some old levels, but I don't know. I don't want to remake the game, that would be pointless, you can download the game and play it on emulator anyway.

Do you plan to add new enemies or bosses?

Not sure, I don't want to make it too different from the original, creating new enemies could break the "magic", and anyway I don't have that "Ste Pickford style". I once thought about taking enemies from other Pickford games, like Zub, and convert them to fit in Plok's world though

This blog is empty...

Yep, it can stay like this for a long time... but IF I make some progress it will be posted here. I'll post screens and stuff someday.
